Alix Swann (she/her) is a queer Black feminist organizer from Silver Spring, Maryland. She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 2018, Spelman College in 2021, and Columbia University in 2022 with her Master of Science in Nonprofit Management. She is currently working in tech consulting, focusing on content engineering for Artificial Intelligence development. Alix got involved with YPP when she moved back to Maryland during the COVID-19 pandemic and began working toward Police-Free Schools. During this time, she became YPP’s Campaign Manager of Police-Free Schools and helped lead the Montgomery County Defund the Police and Invest in Communities Coalition while serving as YPP’s Secretary. Alix enjoys roller skating, drinking tea, and playing beach volleyball. She wants to see YPP flourish for years and aims to do this by helping embed sustainable practices within the organization.
