Robert White
41 year old Silver Spring, MD resident Robert White was shot and killed by Montgomery County police June 11th 2018. White, was walking around his Montgomery County neighboorhood when Officer Anand Badgujar’s shot and killed White. Badgujar's actions were concluded to be “lawful and justified”. Badgujar's justifications were that Robert White was armed however, this conclusion is unsupported. 

Walking while Black in a residential neighborhood is conduct that can subject any member of the community to confrontation and being followed by law enforcement. Is that the county where you call home?

Finan Berhe
A 30-year old Black man was killed by police in the White Oak suburb of Silver Spring, Md., outside his home. He was a member of the local Eritrean community. He was likely under distress, but his life was tragically ended by police officer David Cohen while using excessive force.

Emmanuel Okutuga
While at City Place Mall in Silver Spring was shot and killed by an Montgomery police officer. MCPD claimed that Mr. Okutuga was threatening a mall security guard with a deadly weapon. Despite the fact that the Montgomery County prosecutor’s office “mistakenly erased” video footage of the shooting, a Montgomery County judge ruled that case a justifiable homicide as well.

Peter Njang
In 2004 Peter was shot while he was visiting his sister, Catherine Njang Epie in White Oak by police officer Candice Marchone. The officer admittedly called for him and as he was moving towards her she shot and killed him. He had immigrated to the U.S. no more than 3 months prior to his death.
